Zoning & Subdivision Regulations
Miller & Associates provides guidance for communities updating and interpreting zoning & subdivision regulations to harmonize with comprehensive plans. Zoning regulations were first established to protect the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of a community, and they still aim to do the same today. In addition to updating commercial and residential guidelines, Miller & Associates has recently helped communities navigate current FEMA regulations as well as up to date wind and solar regulations. It is important to note that zoning regulations are legally binding and in place not to prohibit growth, but to guide development. Our staff provides guidance to Planning Commissions, City Councils, Village Boards, County Commissioners, and City/County Administrators to correctly implement zoning regulations to make appropriate land use decisions.
