The new swimming pool and bathhouse is located in Buckley Park just west of the existing swimming pool. The pool has a zero (beach) entry that takes the place of a wading pool. There is a roped-off section in the zero entry part of the swimming pool where younger (toddler) swimmers can play safely. Some spray features are also provided in the zero entry area of the swimming pool for patron’s enjoyment. The main swimming pool area features five, 25-yard lanes that can be used for lap swimming. A one meter diving board and drop slide is located at the deep end of the swimming pool. Maximum water depth at the deep end is 10.5 feet and the shallow end of the swim lanes are 3.5 feet. A 17.5 feet high flume slide with several twists and turns is another modern amenity this new swimming pool has to offer.
The new bathhouse meets current ADA requirements. Lockers are provided for patrons to store clothing and personal items. The swimming pool filtration equipment is located in the mechanical equipment room within the bathhouse.
The new swimming pool has a water surface area of 4,600 sq. ft. and the bathhouse is approximately 2,500 sq. ft. The bathhouse also has park access restrooms with showers available. This restroom facility is for the use of campers that stay at the nearby campground.
