Subdivision
Kearney, NE - Spruce Hollow Platting
Land Development, Design and Construction Engineering Services
The Spruce Hollow subdivision in northwest Kearney is one of the largest current developments in the community. This mixed use, multi-phase project includes a mix of residential, commercial, and multi-family uses, as well as an abundance of green space. Faith Christian School and the new Buffalo Hills elementary school are located in this development, as well as the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the future Baptist church.
We have designed water, sewer, paving, and storm water management infrastructure in several of the phases of this project. We have designed water main, ranging in size from 6-inch diameter to 12-inch diameter. The sanitary sewer system includes gravity sewer mains ranging in size from 8” diameter to 21” diameter. In addition, the sewer system includes two new lift stations and pressure sewer main. We have also worked closely with the developer and the City of Kearney to complete long range sewer planning to provide gravity sewer service to the development in the future. One of the new lift stations, which was completed in 2011, will eventually allow for the City to remove three existing lift stations from service and serve those areas with gravity sewer mains.
Paving within the development includes a number of boulevard streets, with landscaped medians, roundabouts, and decorative lighting. This project has also included the design of concrete pavement and reinforced concrete storm sewer piping, ranging in size from 18 inches to 60 inches in diameter.
