Viaduct
Lexington, NE - Adams Street Viaduct
Studies, Assessments, Design and Construction Engineering Services
In order to complete this project, Miller & Associates had to perform traffic studies, alignment studies, environmental assessment, design and engineering services for a viaduct on Adams Street in Lexington, NE. Project goals included reducing conflicts for motor vehicles and railroad trains by eliminating three at-grade crossings and constructing a grade separation structure. This project included relocating a section of Nebraska Highway 21 which required coordination with the Nebraska Department of Roads and approval of the Nebraska Highway Commission. This viaduct uses Precast/Prestressed concrete girder bridges that span over the Union Pacific Railroad Crossings, U.S. Highway 30, and Vine Street. It also included mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls and embankments that lead to the bridge structure.
