Water Treatment
Buhler, KS - Water Treatment Plant
Design and Construction Engineering Services/Architectural Services
Miller & Associates worked with the City of Buhler to construct a new $1.9 million water treatment facility that removes the arsenic and manganese that has caused discolored water in Buhler for decades. This new plant serves nearly 1,400 City of Buhler residents. Miller and Associates was also responsible for designing the building surrounding the water treatment equipment. The building itself is constructed of stone, blocked, and pre-stressed concrete. The structure was designed to be top quality in order to protect it from the infamous Kansas tornadoes. There was a lot of attention to detail, including glass blocks on the east that allow natural light, a large garage door, and a removable metal wall if needed for future equipment replacement.
